John Teel Dishes wisdom on PCB Design in Make: Magazine
John Teel is the Principal at Predictable Designs. He’s a regular user of Sunstone Circuits’ manufacturing services, and a regular contributor to Make: Magazine.
Here’s a link to his article the Seven Fatal Mistakes in PCB design. As I read John’s article, it strikes me that most of this article concentrates on the “gap” between the engineering of the PCB (schematic, power distribution planning, etc.) and the design of the PCB (placing the polygons on the layers to implement the schematic). Crossing this gap successfully – whether you’re in a team or working on your own – is a critical step in creating a working printed circuit board.
Wise words, John.
